Infographic Design + Research
MMIW Infographic Book
An infographic book created to bring greater visibility to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women while combining research, information design, and visual storytelling into an accessible educational piece.
The Purpose
Using design to bring attention to an important issue.
As a designer, I am interested in using visual communication to bring attention to subjects that may not always receive the awareness they deserve. For this project, I focused on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and the lasting impact this issue has had on Indigenous communities.
My goal was to take a research-heavy subject and organize it into an infographic book that feels informative, approachable, and visually engaging. The project allowed me to combine research with typography, layout, hierarchy, imagery, and data visualization to help communicate the information clearly.
The finished book explains the MMIW issue, explores its significance within Indigenous communities, and provides information on how people can become more informed and support continued awareness, justice, and healing.
